By default, we take into account the complete carbon footprint of a company. We therefore measure the direct and indirect emissions of a company's activities (Scope 1, 2 and 3), following the emission categories proposed by the methodology (energy, raw materials, business travel, service purchases, etc.).

Regarding Scope 3, its exact scope can be refined on a case-by-case basis, depending on the existing calculation methodologies. For example, for an investment fund, different methodologies are possible for measuring the carbon footprint of the investment portfolio.
For a service provider, it may be proposed to measure the carbon footprint related to the use of the services (for example: the use of a web development service for a web agency).

The simplified carbon assessment (scope 1 and 2, and soon 3 too) is already mandatory for companies with more than 500 employees every 4 years and local authorities employing more than 250 people every 3 years.
This is what we call the BEGES. And the regulation is evolving!

The Citizens' Convention for the Climate made several proposals in 2020 relating to the greenhouse gas assessment. Reduction of the headcount threshold, annualization of the assessment, expansion of the scope: all options are on the table. The subject is currently under discussion as part of the 2021 climate law.
