You conducted your carbon footprint in 2024. What role did Caisse d'Epargne Hauts de France play?
During a discussion with our account manager, I mentioned the project to carry out a carbon footprint in order to strengthen our CSR strategy. It was he who told me about the partnership between Caisse d'Epargne and Sami. This allowed us to immediately turn to Sami and therefore to a trustworthy service provider, previously selected by the teams of Caisse d'Epargne. For us, this was a considerable advantage as we progressed serenely and quickly on this project, avoiding multiple searches and having to meet several professionals before making our choice.
What was your CSR strategy before contacting Sami?
We had already taken action to control our environmental impact but began to formally build our CSR strategy in 2023. And on the environmental part, it quickly became clear to us that conducting a carbon footprint should be the cornerstone of our approach. We had never done one before. Measuring our greenhouse gas emissions precisely is a first step in order to subsequently build a precise and effective action plan to further reduce our impact.
What arguments pushed you to take the plunge?
First, the discussions with Sami's teams were very constructive. We immediately appreciated their ability to understand our issues and the specifics of our company and our sector. This reassured us a lot and was important in our decision to get started. Then, we really liked the presentation of their platform: pleasant, clear and very easy to use!
What did you think of Sami?
The first impressions were confirmed! The platform is indeed very easy to get to grips with and use. We also really appreciated the work of the consultant who accompanied us, Lana Champigny. She was attentive, responsive, she knew how to respond to our challenges. And the schedule was respected for the realization of the carbon footprint.
What are the main lessons of your carbon footprint?
First, there is satisfaction: our company emits little greenhouse gas emissions compared to other companies in our sector. This is explained by the actions we had already put in place before the carbon footprint, notably on the travel aspect. For example, we do not take the plane for our business trips and we have set up a soft mobility bonus to help finance the rental or purchase of electric bikes for our employees.
Now, the goal is to always do better and continue to reduce our emissions. This is precisely why we decided to conduct a carbon footprint. The results were presented to us very recently, in January 2025, so we are still in the phase of analyzing our emissions. We will decide on the priority actions to be implemented in the coming weeks and months, notably regarding the commitment of our suppliers on this subject.
