Sami, the reference software for carbon accounting, is accelerating its development by integrating the specialist in ESG management and CSRD compliance, Good Steps.
This integration marks a decisive step since Sami now offers its customers and partners a complete ESG solution ranging from carbon balance to ESG reporting through the management of the CSR approach.

Objective: Offer comprehensive software, from carbon to ESG reporting
The integration of the CSR reporting tool developed by Good Steps allows Sami to provide a software solution offering both a carbon accounting and climate plan management module and a module for managing and reporting corporate CSR performance.
This union meets market expectations, since tens of thousands of SMEs, ETIs and large companies must strengthen and structure their extra-financial reports in order to meet regulations but also to the demands of their stakeholders (investors, customers, etc.).
The solution developed by Good Steps allows companies to manage their ESG data and reports for a large number of CSR standards (GRI, ISO 26000, Ecovadis...). It also covers all the needs of the CSRD, from the analysis of double materiality to the drafting of the sustainability report. The solution had already been integrated into the Sami platform since summer 2024 via a white label partnership. The operational integration of the company will therefore allow new efficiency gains and technical and commercial synergies.
The birth of a European champion of ESG management platforms
Since its creation in March 2020, Sami has established itself among the leaders in carbon accounting and management in France and Europe. In less than 5 years, nearly 1500 companies have chosen the Sami solution to calculate their carbon footprint, manage a climate plan and recently manage their ESG data.
At the beginning of 2025, Sami's client companies represented more than 30 million tons of CO2e and in 2023, their emissions fell by an average of 3% in absolute value compared to 2022.
The Sami platform is also now used by more than 100 partner consulting firms.

This rapid development has been made possible thanks to an innovative approach: thanks to Sami, companies benefit not only from a powerful and educational tool adapted to both SMEs and large companies, but also from strong expertise and support.
Sami is resolutely focused on the collective with a DNA close to open source. In particular, its capital was opened at the end of 2022 via a crowd equity campaign. In 2023, Sami created the General Carbon Plan - Wikipedia on carbon accounting, which is now a reference - and the Open Carbon Practice community to bring together all existing communities of carbon practitioners. Finally, the Sami Pro network, initiated in 2022, is an accelerator for many Sami partner firms.
The acquisition of Good Steps further reinforces this strategy. Because Sami and Good Steps share the same vision: the power of tech at the service of business transformation with the help of experts.
Since its launch in 2021, Good Steps has developed a SaaS solution dedicated to managing corporate CSR strategies, completed at the end of 2023 by a module specific to the CSRD. Thanks to the numerous integrated functionalities - issue frameworks, stakeholder mapping and consultation, stakeholder mapping and consultation, dual materiality analysis, ESG data collection and report writing assistance - Good Steps has become a reference ESG solution, adopted by more than 50 consulting and accounting and audit firms and by 200 companies in just a few months.
Tanguy Robert, Co-CEO and co-founder of Sami
“We are really excited to welcome the Good Steps team to Sami. We share the same vision of CSR: companies need efficient software tools to be more effective, more precise, and involve stakeholders in their decarbonization and CSR approach. These tools should also allow them to work hand in hand with consultants because few are still capable of being completely autonomous with software.
By integrating Good Steps, we will accelerate the development of our functionalities related to CSRD and other CSR standards. The objective of the software is not to report for the sake of reporting, but to monitor indicators for upgrade. Luckily, this is precisely the initial thesis of Good Steps that we 100% share: reporting is necessary, taking action is vital.”
Alexandre Meyer, CEO and co-founder of Good Steps
“Our observation: European companies want increasingly integrated responses to all of their social and environmental issues, first and foremost their climate strategies and the implementation of their CSRD sustainability reporting.
In this fast-growing and consolidating market, offering solutions based on innovative and already perfectly integrated technologies is becoming the norm. After many months of working with the Sami teams, this operation seems to be a logical operational outcome.
With Tanguy and Nicolas (the co-founders of Sami), we share strong ecological and social values, the same vision of development via our joint consulting and auditor clients, and finally a mindset of speed of execution that is resolutely compatible.
Our objective: to become a European sustainability champion by driving the ESG transformation of more than 10,000 mid-sized companies!”
The co-founders of Good Steps, Alexandre Meyer (CEO) and François Le Quééner (CTO), and their collaborators are now fully integrated into Sami's teams.
The Good Steps teams will continue to develop the CSR module in order to consolidate Sami technology and thus offer companies and consulting firms the most complete and effective platform on the carbon and ESG data market.
